The Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo Screening
Argentine journalist and WBAI producer Mara Bard will speak about Argentine women during the "Dirty War"
SOA Watch Long Island is pleased to present Argentine journalist and WBAI producer Mara Bard, who will show the film Las Madres:
The Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo, and give a presentation on the resistance of Argentine women during the U.S.-supported
dictatorship and the 30-year search for 30,000 of their "disappeared" children.
SOA graduates participated in the Argentinian "Dirty War" 30 years ago. Today, a dirty war is being carried out
by the U.S. and U.S.-supported governments and groups in Latin America and around the world—using torture,
assassination, and repression against those struggling for justice.
